Product of the year (POY) is a marketing concept which started in France in 1987. It is currently available in 45 countries and has been operating in the gulf region for the last 12 years.
The ultimate mission of the POY logo is to guide shoppers to the newest products in the market, and to reward manufacturers and service providers for product and marketing innovation.
The POY award is purely based on the feedback of consumers, unlike other awards which rely on a jury selection.
Relying on a transparent voting process, a regional survey is conducted by the independent research company “NielsenIQ” on a representative sample of 4,500 consumers in the Gulf.
A solid methodology determines the winner in each category based on 3 criteria, Innovation, Attractiveness and Purchase Intent.
